Brentwood & Essex — family run
Forty years of
building work
that lasts.
Extensions, renovations and full refurbishments across Brentwood, Shenfield, Ingatestone, Hutton, Stock and Billericay. Managed start to finish by one person who has run sites for four decades — so you always know who to ring.
Checked, covered and accountable.

Background-checked, monitored and scored on every job by the homeowners we have actually worked for.

Fixed priceWhat we do
Whole projects, not just the pretty bits.
01
Extensions
Single and double storey, rear and side return, wrap-arounds. Drawings, building regs, structural steel, groundworks and the fit-out — all handled under one contract so nobody is pointing at anybody else.
02
Full house renovations
Taking a tired property back to brick and bringing it up to a modern standard. Rewires, replumbs, new heating, insulation, plastering, joinery and decoration, phased so you can often stay living in it.
03
Kitchens & bathrooms
Structural openings, floor build-ups, first and second fix, tiling and finishing. Fitted by trades who do it every week, not by whoever happened to be free.
04
Loft & garage conversions
Dormers, rooflights, staircases and the regs work that makes a room legally habitable — fire escape, floor loading, insulation and ventilation done properly.
05
Groundworks & structural
Footings, underpinning, drainage, retaining walls and steelwork. The part of a job that decides whether everything above it stands up.
How it runs
One project manager.
Start to finish.
Step 01
We come and look
A proper visit, not a guess over the phone. We walk the job, talk through what you actually want and flag anything that will cause you grief later.
Step 02
A written quote
Itemised, in plain English, with what is included and what is not. No day-rate surprises halfway through.
Step 03
Trades booked in order
Because the work is planned as one job, the trades turn up in the right sequence and the site is not stood still waiting.
Step 04
Signed off clean
Regs sign-off, snagging list cleared, site left tidy. You get one number to ring if anything needs looking at.
Where we work
Brentwood and the villages around it.
Most of our work sits within a short drive of Brentwood town centre, which is deliberate — it means we are on site when we say we will be, and we can get back quickly if something needs a second look.

Common questions
Questions we get asked.
What areas do you cover?
We are builders in Brentwood and we work across the villages around it: Shenfield, Hutton, Ingatestone, Stock, Billericay, Doddinghurst, Blackmore, Kelvedon Hatch, Mountnessing, Herongate and Warley.
Do you deal with building regulations and planning?
Yes. We handle the building regulations approval ourselves, so you will not be chasing the council. If a job needs planning consent as well, we tell you at the first visit.
Who will I actually be dealing with?
One project manager, from the first visit right through to sign-off. You get one name and one number, not a different person every week.
What sort of work do you take on?
Extensions, full house renovations, loft and garage conversions, kitchens, bathrooms, groundworks and structural work.
How do I get a price?
We come out and look at the job, then put a written price together for you. There is no charge for the visit.
How long does an extension take?
A single-storey rear extension is normally eight to twelve weeks on site once we start. A two-storey extension or a full house renovation takes longer. Before any of that, building regulations approval usually takes three to five weeks, and if the job also needs planning permission allow another eight to twelve weeks. Weather and ground conditions can move a programme, so we give you realistic dates with the quote and tell you straight away if anything changes.
Do you take on smaller jobs?
Tell us what you have got. Most of our work is extensions, renovations and conversions, but we would rather look at your job and give you a straight answer than have you guess. If it is not one for us, we will say so and point you in the right direction.
Are you insured, and do I get a guarantee?
Ask us for our insurance details and we will send them over before any work starts. You should ask that of any builder before you let them on site. Structural work is inspected and signed off by building control, and you get that certificate at the end. Any guarantee that applies to your job is written into the quote, so it is in black and white rather than a promise on the doorstep.
Thinking about a project?
Tell us what you are planning and we will come and take a look. No obligation, no pressure, and a written quote you can actually compare.
